Raja is the award winning Chief Marketing and Communications Officer for Mastercard, has been voted Global Marketer of the year, nominated as one of Forbes’ Most Influential CMOs and elected as the President of the World Federation of Advertisers.
Reading his appraisal of marketing in 2022 is highly informative. He covers where marketing has come from and how society and specifically marketing has evolved.
However, the book’s stellar insight is a marketing ‘how to’ guide in this era that he defines as “Quantum Marketing”.
If you are a marketer, at any level, or a business leader looking to up-skill in marketing – then this book is for you. Raja unlocks the evolution of marketing and then provides a route map as to how to be at the forefront of change.
In his highly readable 18 chapters, he covers B2C, B2B, AI, 5G, Augmented Reality, Virtual Reality, Smart Speakers, Holographic Projection, The Internet of Things, Wearables, 3D printing and the value of outsourcing creative genius to talented bespoke ad agencies.
He explores, Brand Karma, Crisis Management and Purpose as an imperative, and concludes with his manifesto for being a Quantum Chief Marketing Officer.
His conclusion is that though infinitely more complex, there has never been a more exciting time to be involved with marketing – especially as great marketing, as I firmly believe, can drive societal change for the better.
If you read one marketing book this year – it should be this. Highly recommended.
